In spring of this year my company, Redesignwithme, held a Free Engagement Session Giveaway. Three couples were chosen and booked to have an Engagement session with me on three different dates this upcoming summer.
Introductions
Heather and Stephen found my company, Redesignwithme, when I advertised a free engagement session giveaway on Facebook. Heather had stated that she doesn't often enter contests, but after she entered and looked at my work, and "thought it was amazing." Coincidentally, Heather and I had met earlier in the year when she bought some vases left over from my wedding in 2019. After she was chosen as one of three winners for the giveaway, we connected on Facebook where I realized we shared a few friends from my Alma Mata, Guilderland High School. We both had the same Spanish teacher and share other contacts that I know from Altamont as well. Such a small world it is really.
Engagement Session #2 of 2021
After the rain forced us to reschedule, the Central Park Rose Garden engagement session date finally arrived. The evening humidity was as thick as molasses, and Heather and Stephen laughed at their luck with mother nature's sense of humor. No matter the temperature, they were just happy to be together in the beautiful garden. Like many couples, Heather and Stephen have children and are rarely able to get away for an intimate date night. Time is so precious for couples like them and moments when they can be together as a couple are just as important as the time spent with their children. As I spent time with them that evening, I could tell they were a very intimate and loving couple. During our session, Heather and Stephen carved a little place for themselves in their surroundings, which made it easy for playful romantic poses.
They walked together down the grass pathways at sunset.
They squeezed each other tight around the waist and neck on the foot bridge.
They kissed under the weeping willow.
Heather twirled as Stephen held her hand.
They nuzzled while sitting amongst the roses.
At the end of the session, I surprised them with their favorite snacks of Dunkaroos and Cheeze Its.
They were so laid back and easy going. I really had a blast moving them from spot to spot using posing to get different romantic looks.
Heather and Stephen, thank you for being such wonderful patient people through the hot weather. You gave 110% of yourselves during your session and I am so happy that you allowed me to accompany you on such a rare occasion away from children. Your love for eachother truly blossoms within the portraits from the rose garden.
