Something special happens at every wedding I photograph. For Tarryn and Jacob's wedding, Tarryn mentioned there was a special photo they wanted of a ceremony box. This tradition was unknown to me but knew it must be an important moment to the couple. Not knowing what to expect, the moment came where Donald, Tarryn's Step Father and Officiant, explained that the ceremony box would hold the sealed messages from each parent to the couple which were not to be opened until the couple's fifth wedding anniversary. Essentially, the box is a small time capsule. As each parent placed their cards into the box, I froze the moments in camera. I couldn't help but think about how truly special those words would be to open in five years. It was like something out of a Nicholas Sparks novel.
Tarryn and Jacob,
It was wonderful getting to know you as a couple and being able to capture your beautiful engagement photos at Yaddo Gardens and wedding photos at Guan Ho Ha. Every time I saw you together at your wedding, you were always smiling at one another. I wish you all the best and a big congratulations on your wedding!
